Welcome deep snowfall While the branches bend and moan Nourished roots rejoice

Ice thickens on ice Sprawling tiers swell river wide Winter’s hushed embrace

Sky feathered brush strokes Paint whimsical downy shapes Sailing on high winds

Delicate perches Cattail stalks designed for one Pausing together

Catching windy days Sculptures sprout to spin and dance All for our amusement

The ground is cracking Snowless winter dry and cold Awaiting moisture
