Filling this gully  Too pretty to be a weed  Butter and eggs thrive

Can’t call her stupid  As she stands in cool waters  Passing a hot day

Receding summer lake  Drains remnant tundra water  Riffled by the wind

Strategically placed  Tortoise enjoys lettuce snack  And pets from children

Protective grasses  Shield charming purple harebells’  Fairylike display

Food, music, people  A sense of community  Coming together

Despite exposure  Gnarled tree fingers endure  Countless human strides

Treehouse observer  Deer wander as birds fly by  Winds thread through the woods

Dotted gayfeather  Appearing out of nowhere  Sprouts its own garden
