Tucked in a corner  These hummingbirds soar and play  Touching me deeply

Delicate yet strong  Steel bridges the plunging gap  Connecting beyond

Pancake prickly pear  Absorb all the sun they need  To thrive in winter.

Elementals sing  Joyful twinkling melodies  That dance in my heart.

Full moon chased by sun  Hangs in soft blue morning sky  Promising daybreak 

Worn by elements  Cracked adobe walls record  The passage of time.

Walk the winding path  Following life’s suggestion  To become centered

There again the herd  One ewe stands outside the   fence How did she get out?   Unable to resist  I approach as one by one  They easily leap

Without their color  Chamisa bushes display  Pale downy seed shapes.

Cold days, colder nights  Horses stand soaking up   warmth  Sunbathing heaven
