Glimpsed hawk silhouette Perched atop cottonwood snag Poised alert patience

Heavy wet March snow Weighs down cotton puffed branches Swaying with the wind

Newborn calves arrive A welcoming sign of spring’s Rejuvenation

She looks down the road Anticipating friend Shine Not knowing he’s gone
